Justin Hughes

Justin Hughes recently joined the Canadian contemporary dance scene. He commenced his dance training at Pensacola Junior College in Florida in 1995 and received his Associate of Arts Degree from the college in 1998.  Mr. Hughes continued to pursue extensive training in dance at Florida State University  from 1998-2000, where he also studied with such renowned and accomplished American contemporary dance companies as Doug Varone and Dancers and Donlin/Foreman Dance.  In 2003, Justin concluded his education and training at the University of Florida and received both a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Production, Performance, & Choreography) and a Certificate in Arts in Medicine/Arts in Healing through the university in conjunction with Shands Health Care.  Since 1997, Justin has worked with several different American dance artists, has participated in extensive contact improvisation workshops, and has danced and choreographed for several American dance festivals (Bates Dance Festival, American College Dance Festival, Florida Dance Festival, and American Dance Festival).  He has also received several scholarships for his work over the years.  Upon completing his B.FA. in 2003, Justin has worked with such professional Canadian contemporary dance companies as Newton Moraes Dance and Inspiration Dance Theatre.
