Marinko Jareb is a local multi-disciplinary artist, electronic musician, writer, dj and vj who has performed and shown his work internationally. Marinko is best known for his work as a DJ and electronic musician with Helsinki based electro-house label, Mono Records. Jareb has longstanding relationships with NAC, CramArt, Pulse Niagara, Vaughan’s International Cuisine, The Office, and Mikado. He has performed as a DJ and VJ with Peaches, The Bicycles, Richie Hawtin, and Hexes & Ohs to name just a few. Marinko has performed and exhibited at legendary venues such as Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre, Industry Nightclub, System Soundbar, Spin Gallery, and Art System and countless others. Jareb is the personality behind such events as Disco 3000 at Gord’s on James Street (Niagara’s first rave weekly), Permasound (Niagara’s first techno after hours warehouse parties), Art Bar Tuesdays at Mikado (bringing music and video, visual arts and fashion together at a weekly event), and The Smoke Gallery on Queen Street in Niagara Falls (the prototype for community building venues in historic downtown N.F.). For "In The Soil", Marinko will explore the tug and pull of natural beauty vs. intrusive human development in Niagara through a multimedia performance. Original music and video will be assembled as a live media collage with larger than life audio and video projections.
