The Report (1:38) In this computer generated animated film, a man is trapped in visually ambiguous settings. It is an exploration into a socio-political subconscious that wanders between dreams and nightmares, making no distinctions between history, mythology or visions of the future. Bio: Gustavo Cerquera Benjumea is a Colombian painter, sculptor, video, graphic and 3D artist. He migrated to Canada in 2002 and established serendipitously in St. Catharines. The Niagara region proved to be a good place to start fresh in a new country. After a year he enrolled at Brock University. Initially a biology student he switched to the visual arts program over the course of a year. His interest in the natural sciences, however, continues to influence his art practice. He recently graduated from the computer animation program at Sheridan College. His interests are eclectic and include genetics, religion, myth, fictions, biographies, forgeries, film history, the absurd, the sublime, the monstrous and the point where they all collide. His experience as an immigrant and being part of the Colombian community in the region has also shaped his work.
