(Toronto) Hybrids of old styles delivered with a need to entertain Bio: Entertaining, energetic quartet CaMp CoMbO play wacky alt-jazz, maudlin ballads, crazee swing, latins, polkas, circus marches and maybe a surf beat. Darkly gleeful, often improvised and full of tricks! Gobs of original music, and some odd ball covers. Fred Spek is also in Richard Underhill's Kensington Horns, Michael Louis Johnson's Rambuctious and has shared the stage with performers like Mary Margret O'Hara and Kevin Quain. He has also played sax and sang with bands like Blank Crowd, Braino, funky dubsters Dub Enforcement Agency, ska band Inner City Fanatics, and jazz novelty act The Mood Swingers (with exciting vocalist Beverly Taft). Great Bob Scott has played with Toronto weirdos Look People and currently with Kevin Hearn (of Bare Naked Ladies) and Jaymz Bee's Royal Jelly Orchestra and is in great demand as a session drummer Rachel Melas has played bass with Animal Slaves and Random Order as well as so many others. Currently she plays with klezmer act Sisters of Sheynville and cajun band Swamparella. Nichol Robertson plays banjo with Friendly Rich's Lollipop People and guitar with Scotty Campbell and The Wardenaires and is also in great demand for his murderous rampages as a killer bluegrass player!
