SNAPSHOT:

Intereactions is a collaborative video project situated at the intersection of sound-art, text-art and animation.

ABOUT:

Influenced by retro-futurist esthetics, this project revives language from its static arrangement on the page into a multisensory experience never seen or heard before. Here, punctuation and letters are dynamically revitalized to rattle, vibrate and pulse, producing sonic resonances that far exceed preconceived notions of the alphabet’s kinetic and acoustic life. This will be the first collaboration between Graeme Ring, Eric Schmaltz and Nettling Sounds, who all have separate (in some cases secret) careers as solo artists.

ARTISTS:

Eric Schmaltz (test-art and imagery) is a language artist, writer and researcher. Born in Welland, Ont., he now lives and works in Toronto.

Nettling Sounds (sound) is a project that focuses on exploring unique sounds and textures resulting from space, resonance, noise and frequency modulation.

Graeme Ring (video and animation) was born in St. Catharines. He now lives and edits videos for motion picture and commercials in Toronto.
