The Northern Arm is a recording collective consisting of three core members, two of whom were born and raised in Niagara, and several occasional members (many of whom were either born or raised in Niagara) who have contributed to recording sessions over the band’s seven year history.  All music has been created during outdoor recording sessions around Ontario where members bring kernels of song ideas that were developed with other members on the spot and recorded using a couple of mics and an eight-track recorder running through a power inverter and a car cigarette lighter.  The band encourages audiences to bring instruments to join their improvised soundscapes.
