Tabla- Nirvana (St. Catharines) Various mantra-woven rhythmic sequences involving popular beat patterns and ragas of Indian classical and semi-classical music Bio: Dr. Hussain Khan has been playing Tabla for the past 40 years and has 20 years of experience in teaching the instrument. He has a doctorate in psychology from Panjab University in India. He also graduated in Tabla from Rani Durgravati University, in Jabalpur, India. He has put the knowledge of psychology and music together in his pursuit called "Tabla-Nirvana." His album, "Shadows" was released in India and he has performed extensively in various national and international cultural settings. He has been active in the Niagara Region for the past 10 years as a music teacher and performer. Notable performances include, Drums Along the Niagara Festival, James Street Night of Art, Recognize, Respect, Rejoice Multi-faith cultural program of the City of St. Catharines, Niagara Cultural Fest and Open house functions of the Niagara Hindu Samaj.
