Snapshot:

Heavy On The Willie is a band of countrified balladeers from Toronto who can pick out the gems and kick out the jams.

About:

Heavy On The Willie started out heavy on the Willie Nelson in 2012 and has since cast the net far and wide to return with a haul of many original songs by Paul Kolinski and a book of 70-plus songs of varied provenance. The official abbreviation (though there are many) is HotWillie, and under the benevolent guidance of Count Ryman the Country Man (who is quite literally a legend in the making), HotWillie released its eponymous debut cd in December 2015 with an lp to follow in 2016. Heavy On The Willie made Sarah Greene’s “Fifteen from 2015 – stuff I kept listening to” list.Though some may find our name cheeky, mildly offensive, or in poor taste, Heavy On The Willie will not make use of any mature or explicit language or nudity to enhance its performance. Our music is family-friendly.

Artists:

Paul Kolinski – guitar and vocals
Dave Clark – drums
Ken McDonald – bass
Harley Card – guitar
Tania Gill – accordion
Tom Howell – piano and violin

Praise:

Sarah wrote: “I love the album. It’s causing me problems as I’m supposed to be reviewing a holiday soul album.”
