A drone-pop band from Toronto and Niagara Falls. Sometimes we like to have words and sometimes we just keep it instrumental. Sometimes we just like to imagine Chris Mullin reading The Catcher In The Rye in our heads.

Ohmno are a bunch of friends who make noisy pop music inspired by the naive and nihilistic 1990’s. Main writing/jamming partners Ryan & Savino have played together in various forms since 2004. In 2011 Ohmno ‘v.1’ was formed. We played live periodically in Toronto and recorded some material with producer James Anderson in 2012. Shortly thereafter we broke up. In 2015 Ohmno ‘v.2’ was formed with a couple new members, and we’ve created some new, snappy songs.

Ryan Mounsey – guitar/lead vocal
Tim Okura – guitar
William Pentland – guitar
Savino Mazzuocco – bass/vocal
Jake Bros – drums/vocal

From a review of a show we played Mar.19, 2011 (Ohmno v.1), at The Piston in Toronto:

“The band’s sound is low-slung and locked-in: “we like being droney and minimal,” is a fitting self-description. As they picked up steam, a couple of the songs, like ‘When Yer Dead’ and ‘Chinatown’ did have something more like downer-pop momentum….

This is the sort of stuff whose goodness is more striking as a delayed reaction than immediate satisfaction, but this is definitely a band worth checking out.”
