Sloppy rock with tattered edges and hazy overtones.

Toronto-based Bad River can be best described as sloppy rock with a hint of pop. Conceived by Thom Huhtala (Tess Parks, Sweaty Fish) in 2013, the band has released three albums to date. After a brief hiatus in 2015, Huhtala reformed the band with different members and embarked on writing new material. The most recent chapter of Bad River takes Huhtala’s drone-soaked songwriting in a new direction, blending the energy of indie rock with ghostly soundscapes and fuzzy lo-fi guitar tones.

Bad River’s eponymous album and follow-up Button Battery Syndrome (2014) were featured on Weird Canada and various blogs. Mouth (2015) their third and most recent album was released via Little League Records (Homeshake, Alex Calder) and premiered on VICE Noisey.
