SNAPSHOT:

The melancholic, though ultimately optimistic, musical combination of Sarah Hamilton and Anthony Sweet. Swaying melodies and existentially turbulent lyrics live here. Gently tapping feet.

ABOUT:

Sarah Hamilton and Anthony Sweet have bounced around the GTA performing in cafes in St. Catharines, Guelph, Hamilton, Burlington and Toronto. Clementine was born in St. Catharines and owes a huge thank you to the Mahtay Cafe open mic, and to everyone that has heard and continues to listen. They released a 6-track EP titled Fingernails in December 2016.

“Clementine, a.k.a. Sarah Hamilton, has released an album that is melancholic, wistful, spare, bleak, inviting, and yet strangely not morbid: much like its titular clippings, it meditates on the growth and death and regrowth of things big and small.” -Chris Matei, Grayowl Point

“Sarah Hamilton has that poise and clarity common to all the great female singer-songwriters (take P.J. Harvey as an example). She uses these qualities to advantage on this sparingly arranged song with complex meaning.” – Mark Anthony Brennan reviews “Black spot”, Ride the Tempo

ARTISTS:

Sarah Hamilton (vocals/guitar/ukulele), small and hypersensitive to surroundings, translates a blend of turmoil and appreciation into melody.

Anthony Sweet (vocals/piano) was born singing and inspires the voices of everyone he meets. His musical soul is cherished in St. Catharines and everywhere he goes.
