Folk singer/songwriter Dave Allen brings a delicate combination of introspection and observation to his unique take on folk and pop music, reminiscent of the singer-songwriter echelon of the ’60s and ’70s.

Dave Allen was born and raised in Barrie, Ont., and was exposed to an eclectic collection of music at a young age, from Bowie to Dylan, Joan Armatrading to Supertramp and The Beatles. These influences helped shape the all-embracing qualities of his songcraft. Growing up in a musical family, Dave was introduced to improvised melody and performance while jamming pop and folk songs from the ‘60s and ‘70s with his mother, father and younger sister. These jams typically happened at family gatherings and campfires around southern Ontario, with small crowds of friends and family. These musical moments ignited Dave’s ambition for songwriting and creative work. Dave is lead singer-songwriter in the rock ‘n’ soul band Stonetrotter, which released its eponymous full-length album in 2015. You can find Dave performing with Stonetrotter or solo in venues across Ontario. Dave’s debut full-length record is set to be released in 2017.
