A clinical psychologist by profession and a musician by passion, Dr. Khan teaches Indian music in Niagara and performs at various cultural gatherings and festivals.
Dr. Khan started performing and teaching Indian music in Niagara in 1999 and uses rhythmic sounds as a backdrop for yoga and meditation. In 2007, he initiated a project called “Tabla Nirvana,” which revolves around playing tabla, dholak, daf, hapi and bells while people do yoga and meditation. He has been performing with the Moksha Yoga team every year at In The Soil Festival right from its inception. He’s also been performing in the Niagara Folk Arts Festival every year and has performed in Heritage Camps organized by Niagara Hindu Samaj in Niagara Falls.
“Dr. Khan is a great teacher … he brought the Spiritual Indian Music to Niagara Peninsula. His contribution to our community is exemplary. Without his participation the cultural programs are incomplete.” -President, Niagara Hindu Samaj
