DIY Hip Hop & Spoken Word artist rooted in St. Catharines.

I’ll do some rapping, singing, strumming and scratching. I’ll tell stories with a message that I hope you’ll be catching. Jaimie has been involved with a variety of local bands and artistic projects over the years. In 2013, he started competing in the St. Catharines Poetry Slam and shortly after that found himself travelling the country for national competitions. More recently, he’s shifted his focus to writing, producing and performing as a solo hip hop and spoken word artist and released his first solo hip hop album titled “Borrowed Time, Stolen Land” in December of 2016. He is currently booking shows and working on his next album.

“Jaimie Godard bends folk and rap backwards to touch somewhere in the middle. Regardless of the genre, every track beats with this poet’s heart. Reflexive, passionate, and sincere, Jaimie pushes for revolution with one arm and hugs with another. He’s a raised fist, a broken heart, and the people’s humble oracle.” – Lauren Corman

“Jaimie Godard is virtuosic in his improv abilities. Naturally charismatic, his intuitive ability to bring out the nuances in every note solidifies him as a standout. As a performer, there is no one else I’d rather have on the stage with me.” – Andre Prefontaine (2016 Canadian Poetry Slam Champion)

“Truth seeker. Truth speaker.” – Rox :O

Three-time Consecutive St. Catharines Grand Slam Poetry Champion
Two-Time Canadian Individual Poetry Slam Finalist
Recent winner of the Play a Piece of Canada’s Story Six String Nation contest at the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre.
