An inter-disciplinary performance art installation where a new art work comes to life through movement.


(re)moving Graffiti was first created in 2010 and has since been performed in London, Huntsville, Saint John, and all over the GTA. In April 2018 a version will be present at the Festival of Wings in Ypres, Belgium. This presentation of The Living Mural at In the Soil 2018 will be the first showing of this expanded version of the project.

Hercinia Arts Collective is an inter-disciplinary contemporary circus company based in Toronto. Created in 2009 by a group of performance artists with diverse backgrounds in dance, gymnastics, circus, theatre and visual arts, our mission is to create multidisciplinary works that bring the public into art.


Emily Hughes (director/performer) is a circus/theatre artist trained at Ryerson Theatre School and in circus since the ripe age of 8. Emily has a great passion for developing characters and stories through text, movement and media arts. Find out more at

Vanita Butrsingkorn (performer) is an international circus performer based in Toronto. In her quest to find athletic artistic expression, she has performed in the theatre and in the circus as an aerialist and stilt acrobat.

Natayu Mildenberger (choreographer) is a versatile professional Creative Artist from Saint John,New Brunswick. He graduated from the Quinte Ballet school of Canada and Ecole de Cirque Zôfy in Switzerland.
