Dr. Khan has been teaching Indian music in Niagara for over 19 years and performs at various cultural gatherings and festivals.


Dr. Khan started performing and teaching Indian music in Niagara in 1999 and uses rhythmic sounds as a backdrop for yoga and meditation. In 2007, he initiated a project called “Tabla Nirvana,” which revolves around playing tabla, dholak, daf, hapi and bells while people do yoga and meditation. He has been performing with the Moksha Yoga team every year at In The Soil Festival from its inception. He’s also been performing in the Niagara Folk Arts Festival every year and has performed in Heritage Camps organized by Niagara Hindu Samaj in Niagara Falls.

Dr Hussain Khan has a PhD with graduation in Indian Instrumental Music (Tabla). He has performed in various fests, radio and tv programs in India, Canada, UK and USA. He uses music as a therapeutic aid for stress management.
