Join in on a joyful parade of glowing lantern puppets.


Bring it to In the Soil Arts Festival Hub on Friday 27 April at 8pm to join in the In the Soil Arts Festival Lantern Parade and light up the night sky. All are welcome to join in the parade! Don’t have a lantern? Bring a puppet or noisemaker from home. Some extra lanterns will be available for participants.

The Enormous Elsewhere is an original puppet theatre, workshop and one of a kind art doll company based out of St.Catharines, Ontario, comprised of Alexa Fraser and Clelia Scala. Clelia Scala is a mask and puppet designer and performer, collage artist and illustrator. Alexa Fraser is a textile artist, puppet maker and performer, designer and seamstress. Together Clelia and Alexa have created and performed two original puppetry plays, taught many puppetry workshops and have studied puppet building and performance with the Old Trout Puppet Workshop, the Puppetmongers and CLUNK Puppet Lab.


Clelia Scala (artist & workshop instructor) is a mask and puppet designer and illustrator. She makes masks and puppets for theatres and schools. She teaches mask and puppet making. Clelia studied at the College of Makeup Art & Design, the Humber Puppetry Intensive, and the New England Puppet Intensive. Her website is

Alexa Fraser (artist & workshop instructor) is a Textile and Installation Artist, Puppet Maker and Puppeteer, Designer and Seamstress from St.Catharines, Ontario. Alexa has a B.Des in Fashion Design from Ryerson University and has studied puppetry construction and performance with the Old Trout Puppet Workshop, the Puppetmongers and CLUNK Puppet Lab. Alexa has displayed work in many solo and group art exhibits, teaches textile art and puppet workshops, makes and performs puppets for Theatre and has been the Head of Wardrobe for Carousel Players since 2015.
