Harmonies, Strings, Washboard and Things…
Maddy and Jon met serendipitously in New Zealand, 2014 and within days of meeting had embarked on a life changing musical journey. Since the release of their ‘home’- recorded EP, Elkonomic Develephant (St Catharines, 2016) they have spent 18 months busking and performing across Canada; from PEI fishing bars, to Prairie porches; from West-Coast surf towns, to festival stages in the Yukon, absorbing life into their sound. After taking time out to record a new album, “No Time Forever”, Uphill and Still are back on the road this spring, so follow your ears, quit your jobs and bring your spoons!
“Acoustic, original, roots, bluegrass, blues, folk – no matter how you choose to define their music, Uphill and Still always deliver with an organic yet edgy thread that connects listeners of all backgrounds.”
Jon Marleau – Vocals, Guitar/ Banjo/ Washboard
Maddy James – Vocals, Mandolin/Guitar/Washboard
